The first of its kind, the sign language guide was created to provide interpretation for the works of art at the Tate Modern to visitors with hearing impairment. Created in conjunction with the Royal Association for the Deaf in order to provide accurate and legible video that gives deaf visitors the freedom to visit the gallery when they like and still do a tour.
Some of the features include: a glossary of art terms that pops up during the video and the user can click on it to view a video about its meaning; full subtitles, partial/key word subtitles; interactive games adapted for British Sign Language; artists' videos with subtitles.
